큰 기대속에 "바로크 베를린필하머닉"인 Berliner Barock Solisten의 연주회에 다녀왔습니다. 연주전 빈자리가 많은 예술의 전당 주차장을 보며 작은 우려를 했지만 1층은 거의 메웠고 2층도 사이드 좌석을 제외하곤 거의 찼더군요. 이윽고 연주가 시작되며 12명의 전형적 게르만 사나이들이 등장 했습니다. 첫곡은 비올라로도 많이 연주되는 G.P.텔레만의 "3대의 바이얼린을 위한 협주곡 Gb장조"로 시작 했습니다. 마음씨좋게 생긴 예술감독 Rainer Kussmaul교수의 포근한 연주와 과르네리 바니쉬풍의 1724년산 스트라드의 음색은 너무나 절묘 했습니다. 또한 바이얼리니스트 슐로모.민츠를 너무나 닮은 3rd 바이얼린을 맞아 연주한 헝가리출신의 Zoltan Almasi씨의 연주도 매우 인상 깊었습니다. 두번째 연주곡은 너무나 낮게 조절된 튜닝으로 악보까지 들고가 첫 실연연주 감상에 대한 기대에 부풀어 있던 절 무척 당황시킨 J.S.바흐의 "비올라 협주곡 D장조" 였습니다. 카라얀에게 발탁 약20년간 베를린필의 수석 비올리스트였던 Wolfram Christ는 테크닉상 아주 난곡인 이 작품을 음정은 좀 불안했지만 무난하게 연주 했습니다. 다만 1854년산 J.B.Vuillaume라는 Christ교수의 악기는 상태가 안좋은듯 그다지 인상적인 톤을 뿜어내지 못하더군요. 세번째 연주곡은 하프시코드 연주로 많이 알려진 J.S.바흐의 "바이얼린 협주곡 g단조"였는데 이작품에서 Kussmaul교수의 실력이 유감없이 발휘 되었습니다. 바로크 보우를 사용한듯한 그의 연주는 풍만한 톤이 매우 인상적 깊더군요. 휴식후 후반부에선 다소 피로한듯 곳곳에서 음정이 다소 불안 했으나 G.P.텔레만의 "두대의 비올라를 위한 G장조 협주곡"과 "바이얼린 협주곡 A장조"를 여전히 흐트러짐없는 앙상블로 들려 주었습니다. 마지막 연주 작품으로는 너무도 유명한 J.S.바흐의 "두대의 바이얼린을 위한 d단조 협주곡"을 연주 했는데 1st 바이얼린을 연주한 Kussmaul교수와 2nd 바이얼린을 연주한 Rudiger Liebermann씨의 연주 스타일이 너무도 상반되어 다소 경직된 연주였으나 앙상블 만큼은 모처럼 전형적인 정통 독일풍의 바로크음악에 젖어볼수 있었던 소중한 시간 이였습니다. 2곡의 앙코르와 매우 유머스러운 외모(죄송~)에 비해 초절의 기교를 유감없이 보여준 베이시스트 Klaus Stoll씨의 연주도 무척 인상 깊었습니다. 끝으로 두가지 아쉬운점이 있었다면 다소 무성의하게 제작된 팜플렛(예: 연주자의 출생연도 표기 오기와 연주작품에 관한 해설이 전무)과 기획사에 의해 지나친 가격에 판매된 CD(예:이들의 "비발디4계" 한장짜리 CD의 가격이 무려 25000원이나 하더군요)등이 "옥의 티"였다고 개인적으로 생각 됩니다. |
